The S&P 500 gained 268 points last week. I expected it to go slightly higher. It appears that the effect of Venus in Libra happened earlier than expected.
Here is the expected breakdown for the week of August 10, 2026, to August 14, 2026.
Ketu is the compressed Vimshottri dasha planet for August 10. Ketu occupies the ninth house in the sign Virgo in the monthly solar chart. Ketu is a malefic planet and gives poor results. However, it is enclosed by Jupiter on one side and the Moon on the other. The market may, therefore, move higher on this day.
The planet in the Vimshottri scheme is Venus, and its term of office is Aug 11 – Aug 15. Venus occupies the sign Virgo in the ninth house and makes a square aspect withMars occupying the sixth house. Venus is a benefic planet, and it is weak by sign. However, it is hemmed between Jupiter and the Moon. This may cause the market to go slightly higher.
Transits during this week:
The Sun is now transiting Leo, a sign it rules. On Monday (Aug 10), the Moon transits Cancer, and the Sun is in the second house from it. As a result, the stock market may end higher on Monday.
On Tuesday (Aug 11), the Moon moves on to Leo, and it conjuncts Mercury and forms a trine aspect with retrogradeNeptune. As a result, Tuesday may be a higher day for the markets.
On Wednesday (Aug 12), the Moon advances in Leo. It conjucts the Sun, which is an Amavasya. Wednesday may therefore also be a flat day.
On Thursday (Aug 13), the Moon, while transiting in Virgo, makes a square aspect with Uranus, which in turn forms a trine aspect with strong Venus. The net result of which can be a higher day for the markets.
The Moon continues to advance in Virgo, and Venus enters Libra on Friday, August 14. The Moon makes a Shubhkartari Yoga with Venus in Libra and Jupiter in Leo. The Sun is also strong in Leo. Friday may be a higher day in the stock market.
By combining the transit and CVD techniques, I have estimated the stock market’s daily behavior as follows.
Monday: Higher; Tuesday: Slightly higher; Wednesday: Flat; Thursday: Slightly higher; Friday: Flat.
