The S&P 500 gained 37 points last week. I also expected it to gain slightly. My daily forecast was off.
Here is the expected breakdown for the week of August 31, 2026, to September 04, 2026.
Venus is the compressed Vimshottri dasha planet for August 30 – September 04. Venus occupies the fourth house in the sign Libra in the monthly solar chart. Venus is a benefic planet and is strong. However, it is aspected by a weak Saturn from the tenth house. The market may, therefore, remain flat or go sideways during these days.
The next planet in the Vimshottri scheme is the Sun, and its term of office is September 04 – 05. The Sun occupies the sign Leo in the second house. This may cause the market to go higher.
Transits during this week:
The Sun is now transiting Virgo, a sign of its friend, Mercury. On Monday (Aug 31), the Moon transits Aries, and it makes an opposition aspect with strong Libra. As a result, the stock market may end lower on Monday.
On Tuesday (Sep 01), the Moon moves into Taurus and makes a wide sextile to Mars. As a result, Tuesday may be a slightly higher day for the markets, as the Moon is strong in this sign.
On Wednesday (Sep 02), the Moon continues to transit in Taurus. However, it now forms a square with Jupiter in Leo. Wednesday may therefore also be a slightly higher day.
On Thursday (Sep 03), the Moon, while transiting in Gemini, makes a square with Rahu and Ketu. The net result of which can be a lower day for the markets.
The Moon now advances in Gemini, and its Tithi is the eighth of the dark half. Mercury is strong in Virgo, and Venus is strong in Libra. Friday may be a slightly higher day in the stock market.
By combining the transit and CVD techniques, I have estimated the stock market’s daily behavior as follows.
Monday: Flat; Tuesday: Flat; Wednesday: Slightly higher; Thursday: Lower; Friday: Slightly higher.
