The S&P 500 gained 7 points last week. I also expected it to gain slightly. My daily forecast was off.
Here is the expected breakdown for the week of September 07, 2026, to September 11, 2026.
Moon is the compressed Vimshottri dasha planet for September 06 – 07. Moon occupies the fifth house in the sign Scorpio in the monthly solar chart. Moon is a benefic planet but is very weak. The market may, therefore, go lower during these days. However, the market is closed for Labor Day.
The next planet in the Vimshottri scheme is Mars, and its term of office is September 08 – 09. Mars occupies the sign Cancer in the first house. This may cause the market to go lower.
Rahu is the next in line in the CVD scheme. Its control period is between September 10 and 14. It occupies the eighth house. It makes a square aspect with the Moon. The markets may be volatile but can end lower.
Transits during this week:
The Sun is now transiting Virgo, a sign of its friend, Mercury. On Monday (Sep 07), the Moon transits Cancer, and it makes a square aspect with Venus. Although both the planets are benefic, the aspect they make is not favorable. However, the stock market is closed on Monday.
On Tuesday (Sep 08), the Moon moves into Leo and conjuncts Jupiter. As a result, Tuesday may be a slightly higher day for the markets, as the Moon is strong in this sign.
On Wednesday (Sep 09), the Moon continues to transit in Leo. However, it now moves near Ketu. Wednesday may therefore also be a slightly lower day.
On Thursday (Sep 10), the Moon transits in Virgo and makes a square with Uranus. The net result of this can be a lower day for the markets.
The Moon on Friday (Sep 11) advances in Virgo, and it is the beginning of the dark half. Mercury moves into Libra, and Venus into Scorpio. Friday may be a lower day in the stock market.
By combining the transit and CVD techniques, I have estimated the stock market’s daily behavior as follows.
Monday: Closed; Tuesday: Slightly higher; Wednesday: Flat; Thursday: Lower; Friday: Slightly lower.
