Aug 05 – 09, 2024

The S&P500 lost 113 points last week. I was expecting a slightly higher market. My daily forecast was pretty bad too. When Mercury is retrograde, even the astrologers cannot think straight.

Here is the expected breakdown for the week of  August 05, 2024 to August 09, 2024.

The compressed Vimshottri dasha planet for  Aug 04 – Aug 08 is Jupiter. Jupiter is a benefic planet by nature. It rules fifth house and occupies the eleventh house in the sign, Gemini. It makes sextile aspects with Venus in the first house and Rahu in the ninth house of the monthly solar chart. The planet, its placement and aspects are all good. Consequently, the market may end higher during this period.

The compressed Vimshottri dasha planet for  Aug 09 – Aug 12 is Saturn. Saturn is a malefic planet. It is retrograde and occupies the 8th house in the sign, Pisces. It rules the seventhth house and makes no close aspects with any planet. As a result, the market may go lower during these days.

Transits during this week:  Jupiter is advancing in the sign Gemini while Uranus continues to transit through Taurus during this week. Rahu is transiting in Aries and Ketu in Libra. The Sun advances in Leo whereas Venus is moving into its worst sign Virgo. Here it meets its friend, Mercury which behaves strongly in this sign. Saturn and Neptune are well established in Pisces. However, both have turned retrograde now. Retrograde Saturn is not a welcome feature. Mars is advancing in Gemini, a sign of its dislike. The Moon transits in Leo, Virgo, and Libra, and through the 1st Tithi of the bright half to the 5th Tithi of the bright half. The Moon gives slightly bad results in these signs and in the fourth quarter. The Moon and the Sun form neutral and slightly positive yogas during this week.  The planets, Sun and Mercury, are strong but Venus gets weak. Combining the transit and CVD techniques, the following is my estimate of the daily behavior of the stock market.

Monday: Slightly higher; Tuesday: Slightly higher;   Wednesday:Slightly higher;   Thursday: Lower;   Friday: Flat

Overall, the S&P500 may go slightly higher during this week.
