The S&P 500 lost 152 points last week. I also expected it to go lower. Even my daily forecast was accurate this time.
Here is the expected breakdown for the week of October 19, 2026, to October 23, 2026.
1. Vimshottri periods in the NYSE chart: Mercury/Rahu/Mercury/Rahu until October 26: Stocks can be volatile, but technology stocks may be the key stocks.
2. Monthly Solar Return Chart since September 20:
Venus is the compressed Vimshottri dasha planet for October 19. Venus occupies the fourth house in the sign Scorpio in the monthly solar chart. Venus is weak in this sign. The market may, therefore, go lower on this day.
A new monthly solar return chart applies from October 20 to November 18, 2026. The description of the monthly chart is given on the front page. Visitors interested in the details can look at the front page, the Monthly Forecast section, and Read More… Here I describe only the shorter periods.
2. Monthly Solar Return Chart since October 20:
Mars is the first planet in the CVD scheme. Its control period runs from October 20 to October 21. It occupies the eighth house, and its sign is Leo. It makes an opposition aspect with the Moon. Mars is thus malefic and slightly weak. The markets can thus go lower.
Rahu is next in line in the CVD schemes. Its period runs between October 22-26. Its sign is Aquarius, and it gets the blessings of Jupiter in the Leo sign. The stock market, therefore, may be volatile but ends higher.
3. Transits during this week:
The Sun is now transiting Libra, a sign of its fall. On Monday (Oct 19), the Moon transits Aquarius and receives Mars’s opposition aspect. It also squares retrograde Venus. The second soli-lunar quarter is generally favorable. Since the Moon is involved in a T-square, the stock market may fall.
On Tuesday (Oct 20), the Moon advances in Aquarius, squares Mercury and opposes Jupiter. As a result, Tuesday may also be a slightly lower day for the markets.
On Wednesday (Oct 21), the Moon moves over to Pisces. It makes a trine aspect with retrograde Venus. Wednesday may therefore be a slightly lower day.
On Thursday (Oct 22), the Moon transits in Pisces and forms an eighth-house aspect with Mars. The net result may be a slightly higher day in the markets.
On Friday (Oct 22), the Moon transits in Pisces, and its Tithi is the 13th of the bright half, which is generally positive for US stocks. Friday may be a higher day in the stock market.
By combining the transit and CVD techniques, I have estimated the stock market’s daily behavior as follows.
Monday: Lower; Tuesday: Slightly lower; Wednesday: Flat; Thursday: Higher; Friday: Higher.
