The S&P 500 lost 21 points last week. I also expected it to go slightly lower. Although the S&P 500 doesn’t show the market in a downtrend, most sectors have performed poorly in recent months.
Here is the expected breakdown for the week of October 05, 2026, to October 02, 2026.
1. Vimshottri periods in the NYSE chart: Mercury/Rahu/Mercury/Rahu: Stocks can be volatile, but technology stocks can hold the market up.
2. Monthly Solar Return Chart since September 20:
Jupiter is the compressed Vimshottri dasha planet for October 04 – 07. Jupiter occupies the first house in the sign Leo in the monthly solar chart. Jupiter is a benefic planet, and it makes a sextile aspect with Mercury. The market may, therefore, go higher during these days.
Saturn is the next in line in the CVD scheme. Its control period runs from October 08 to October 11. It occupies the ninth house, and its sign is Aries. It is thus malefic and weak. The markets can thus go lower.
3. Transits during this week:
The Sun is now transiting Libra, a sign of its fall. On Monday (Oct 5), the Moon transits Leo, and it crosses over Mars. The soli-lunar quarter is the fourth, which is generally favorable. Therefore, the stock market can go higher.
On Tuesday (Oct 6), the Moon advances in Leo and crosses Jupiter. As a result, Tuesday may be a slightly higher day for the markets, as the Moon is strong in this sign and the Jupiter conjunction is beneficial.
On Wednesday (Oct 7), the Moon moves over to Virgo. It makes a square aspect with Uranus. Wednesday may therefore also be a slightly lower day.
On Thursday (Oct 8), the Moon transits in Virgo and forms no close aspect. The net result may be a flat day in the markets.
On Friday (Oct 9), the Moon transits in Libra, and its Tithi is the 14th of the dark half, which is generally positive for US stocks. Friday may be a slightly higher day in the stock market.
By combining the transit and CVD techniques, I have estimated the stock market’s daily behavior as follows.
Monday: Higher; Tuesday: Slightly higher; Wednesday: Slightly lower; Thursday: Flat; Friday: Slightly higher.
