The S&P 500 gained 90 points last week. I also expected it to go slightly lower. My daily forecast was off too.
Here is the expected breakdown for the week of September 28, 2026, to October 02, 2026.
Mars is the compressed Vimshottri dasha planet for September 27 – 28. Mars occupies the twelfth house in the sign Cancer in the monthly solar chart. Mars is a malefic planet and it is weak and badly placed. The market may, therefore, go lower during these days.
Rahu is the next in line in the CVD scheme. Its control period runs from September 29 to October 03. It occupies the eighth house, and its sign is Aquarius. It makes no aspect. The markets may be volatile but can remain Flat.
Transits during this week:
The Sun is now transiting Virgo, a sign of its fall, Libra. On Monday (Sep 28), the Moon transits Aries, and it forms an opposition with Mercury. Although the Moon is benefic, the sign it occupies is not favorable. Therefore, the stock market can go slightly lower.
On Tuesday (Sep 29), the Moon advances in Taurus and opposes Venus. As a result, Tuesday may be a slightly higher day for the markets, as the Moon is strong in this sign and the aspect of Jupiter is beneficial.
On Wednesday (Sep 30), the Moon continues transiting Taurus. It makes a square aspect with Rahu and Ketu. Wednesday may therefore also be a slightly lower day.
On Thursday (Oct 1), the Moon transits in Gemini and forms a favorable aspect from Saturn. The net result may be a slightly lower day in the markets.
On Friday (Oct 2), the Moon advances in Gemini, and its Tithi is the 7th of the dark half, which is generally negative for US stocks. Friday may be a flat day in the stock market.
By combining the transit and CVD techniques, I have estimated the stock market’s daily behavior as follows.
Monday: Slightly lower; Tuesday: Slightly higher; Wednesday: Slightly lower; Thursday: Slightly lower; Friday: Slightly higher.
